Venezuela reinforces international campaign diffusion about constitutional reform

(Agencia Bolivariana de Noticias) - "The work to diffuse abroad the content of the constitutional reform project will be reinforced sending Venezuelan delegations to Latin American countries, such as Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, and Bolivia.

There will be sent also representatives to Europe, where the agenda will start at Spain, France, Germany, and Switzerland.

The statements were made by the President of the Commission for Citizen Participation of the National Assembly, Darío Vivas, from the Legislative Palace.

Vivas also detailed part of the national agenda to diffuse the constitutional reform project, which is being carried out at Venezuelan territory.

He explained that they will go to Bolívar State to meet with the spokesmen of that territory and they will do the same in Delta Amacuro State.

Vivas said that they are going to debate with Latin American and Caribbean countries people living in Venezuela.

'They are going to be welcomed by the Latin American Parliament, Andean Parliament, Foreign Politics Commission of the National Assembly, and Mixed Commission (in charge of studying and write the reports to be discussed about the constitutional reform), because, from this meeting, we are going to start to develop all the diffusion work about the content of the proposal made by the President of the Republic, Hugo Chávez Frías, to these resident communities, as well as the international diffusion plan', Vivas pointed out.

Furthermore, he said he will meet again with the Mixed Commission to listen to other proposals from diverse sectors. There is a possibility that the same day Aristóbulo Istúriz (former minister for education) and Eleazar Díaz Rangel (president of Venezuelan newspaper Últimas Noticias and writer), among others, will visit the Parliament to present their point of view about the reform.

'The idea is to keep strengthening the diffusion work about the content of the reform and with National Assembly representatives in diverse country's regions, we are opening a new space', he pointed out.

'We are trying to reach every single space to make people know reform's content and to create spaces where they can be listened to and make them participate in the debate in order to have all the population abreast of reform's content the day of the referendum', he stressed.

He underscored that in the 99 electoral circuits in the national territory there is at least one deputy in joint with a group of fellow countrymen doing this job, as well as in the States, sector and region meetings, etc. This work has been carried out in joint with social organized groups and Socialist Battalions from the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, among others.

'About 75% of the population already knows about the reform and they have President's proposal', Vivas assured.

Regarding presidential re-election proposal, Vivas emphasized that in the debates carried out and in the social street parliaments people have approved it by majority".
