Sectors of the country continue to put forward their proposals on the reform of the constitution (Agencia Bolivariana de Noticias) - "Members of the Mixed Commission that studies the project on the reform of the constitution proposed by the President of the Republic, Hugo Chávez held a special session to give 15 Rights of Speech requested by different sectors of the country.
Amongst others, Professors of the University of Los Andes, Members of the Confederation of Evangelists of the State of Portuguesa, Spokesmen of the red of Defence for Workers, Property and Constitution, persons with hearing impediments, students from the University of Carabobo, Members of Conindustria, Engineers, Architects, Members of the National Foundation of the Third Age, and representatives of National Syndicate of Concierges of Venezuela, all expressed in high voices their opinions with and against what is handled concerning the proposal of constitutional reform which is presently being studied by the legislative body.
Aléxis Bracho, spokesman of a group of more than 300 Engineers and Architects who were present at an act at the Federal Legislative Palace said that the group had studied and discussed the proposal of the Constitutional Reform put forward by the Head of State and based on that study and discussion they found it to be very interesting and appropriate for the times Venezuela is living.
It is to be pointed out that amongst others, Engineers and Architects from the States of Zulia, Lara, Falcón, Táchira, Cojedes, Monagas and Miranda were present at the act.
Raúl Goite Vargas, from the Foundation Friends of the Third Age, informed that he will propose the necessity of incorporating approximately one million five hundred thousand older adults in the proposal of the Constitutional Reform presented by the President of the Republic, Hugo Chávez Frias.
'We would also like to establish that all elderly adults that have not been able to contribute to their Social Security during their working life will have a guaranteed pension of 80% of the minimum wage' said spokesman of the elderly with unconditional support for the contents of the 33 articles proposed by the Head of State.
Francisco Soteldo, a law student from the University of Carabobo, together with three other students visited Parliament to put forward their discontent on the manner that the Constitutional Reform is carried out.
Once the students were consulted on how this important issue should be carried out, their spokesman began by saying that the Project of the Constitutional Reform proposed by President Chávez infringes fundamental principles of the Carta Magna, because in their opinion, it does not guarantee alternate power and political pluralism". |
