Venezuela's indigenous support Chávez constitutional reform proposal

(Prensa Latina) - 'Venezuela's indigenous people have joined the social movements that support the constitutional reform proposed by President Hugo Chávez and being debated by the people and the National Assembly.

The mobilization, which will end on September 28 with a national rally, began with a march by indigenous people in Puerto Ayacucho, the capital of the state of Amazonas, 435 miles south of Caracas.

Similar actions have been taken by students, women, journalists and other sectors that support the President's proposal, which is aimed at laying the foundations for socialist development in the country.

The indigenous demonstration in Puerto Ayacucho will be followed by similar marches from September 24-27 in the states of Anzoátegui, Bolívar and Zulia, and will end in Caracas'.
