(Prensa Latina) - 'The Venezuelan electoral council is drawing up the regulations to be followed prior to the December referendum to approve the constitutional reform project.

The National Electoral Council (CNE) is studying the application of regulations on media coverage during the campaign prior to the referendum.

It proposes that the CNE be in charge of hiring publicity preceding the popular vote, and that the campaign lasts 20 days.

Regarding polls by different specialized firms, the regulations stipulate that they cannot be published until five days before the referendum.

As to public officials, they cannot hold propaganda actions in their workplaces or express support for a faction while exercising their duties.

The CNE is in charge of summoning the consultation after it receives the constitutional reform project already approved by the National Assembly'.
