Spanish Socialist Secretary
of International Relations defends fluent
relations with Venezuela
(El Universal) - "(
)
The Spanish Socialist Secretary of International
Relations, Trinidad Jiménez, when
asked about President Hugo Chávez
visit, said that it is the Spanish government's
duty to 'have fluent and close relations
with the governments of the world, which
of course includes Venezuela, with whom
Spain shares common interests'.
'I have to remind
you that Chávez celebrated a
referendum last August in his country
and he received the support of more
than 60 percent of the population, therefore,
he has legitimacy and political authority
to represent his citizens and maintain
the kind of international relations
that we defend'".
