Chávez and Jatami
highlight common interests between Venezuela
and Iran
(El Nacional) - "Venezuelan
President Hugo Chávez made an official
visit to Iran, with the goal of expanding
bilateral relations between both countries.
During the first day of
his visit he closed a deal to purchase
486 Iranian tractors (

'Iran and Venezuela have
lots of common interests and goals.
This is why we must take our political
and economical relations to the highest
level', Jatami said (

Chávez announced
that Jatami will visit Venezuela next
year, 'showing the dynamism of these
relations through the installation of
a tractor factory and an Iranian cement
plant in Venezuela, also by strengthening
relations with members of the OPEC and
defending oil prices' (

Chávez unveiled
a statue of Venezuelan liberator Simón
Bolívar and inaugurated a street
in Teheran with Bolívar's name
too (
