PDVSA to Produce 3.41 Mln bdp in 2005
(Latin America News Digest) - "Venezuela state-run crude oil monopoly Petróleos de Venezuela SA (PDVSA) will raise its oil output by 183,000 barrels per day (bdp) in 2005 and will produce 2.296 million bdp of oil in 2005, the president of the company Alí Rodríguez said on November 10, 2004.

The combined oil output of four foreign companies with which PDVSA has contracts will also rise to 624,000 bdp in 2005, according to Rodríguez.

In this way, the total oil output of Venezuela in 2005 will reach 3.41 million bdp. Including the 170,000 bdp of liquefied natural gas (LNG) that the country produces, the total fuel output of Venezuela will round 3.58 million bpd, according to Rodríguez.

Rodríguez said that the average daily oil and LNG output of Venezuela in 2004 will reach 3.18 million bdp. The country is the fifth largest oil exporter worldwide".
