Lake Charles Manufacturing Complex passes
6 million hour safety milestone
(PDVSA Bulletin) - "CITGO
Petroleum Corporation today announced
that its Lake Charles Manufacturing Complex
has logged more than 6 million hours of
operation without an employee Lost Workday
Case, a new facility record. The last
employee lost workday case occurred in
July, 2002, some 27 months ago.

for the Lake Charles facility, but for
the entire CITGO family and reflects

CITGO is a leading manufacturer
of high-quality transportation fuels,
lubricants and petrochemicals. The Lake
Charles complex, located on the banks
of the Calcasieu Ship Channel, encompasses
2,000 acres and includes both the CITGO
Refinery and Lake Charles Lubricants
& Wax Plant. Together, the two facilities
employ about 1,650 regular, full-time
employees.
CITGO, based in
Houston, is a refiner, transporter and
marketer of transportation fuels, lubricants,
petrochemicals, refined waxes, asphalt
and other industrial products. The company
is owned by PDV America, Inc., an indirect
wholly owned subsidiary of Petróleos
de Venezuela, S.A., the national oil
company of the Bolivarian Republic of
Venezuela".
