Venezuela and Brazil
to create joint venture
(Neftegaz.ru) - "The Energy
Ministers of Venezuela and Brazil signed
an energy accord to share technical expertise
and study possible hydrocarbons joint
ventures.
Under
the agreement, the both ministries will
form a commission to study proposals
and possible joint ventures between
Venezuela's state oil firm PDVSA and
Brazil's federal energy company Petrobras
every 6 months.
Dilma
Rousseff, Brazil's Energy Minister,
said, that t he intention is to create
joint policies to work jointly at such
areas heavy crude and sharing technology.
Venezuela's President
Hugo Chávez has made regional
energy integration one of the political
priorities of his administration, and
he sees Brazil's President Luiz Inácio
Lula da Silva as a political ally in
regional development.
Chávez has
already signed several energy accords,
including a recent deal with Argentina
to export fuel in exchange for meat
and other agricultural products".
