Venezuela sells $1.3
Bln of dollars in October
(Bloomberg) - "Venezuela's
Central Bank, boosting dollar sales to
spur economic growth and slow inflation,
sold $1.3 billion in October and $11.4
billion in the first 10 months of 2004,
the foreign exchange commission said in
a statement.
The bank's dollar sales this year are
in line with sales in 2002, which averaged
about $1 billion a month. The bank sold
$4.6 billion last year, the first year
the government implemented restrictions
on dollar purchases".
