Unemployment rate was
13,7% in October
(El Universal) - "The unemployment
rate in October 2004 was 13,7% (…)This
percentage represents a drop of three
points compared to October 2003, when
the rate reached 16,7% (…)
The
president of the National Statistics
Institute, Elias Eljuri, estimated that
if the unemployment rate continues to
show a decreasing tendency, it could
reach 11% by the end of this year.
Another report by
the National Statistics Institute indicated
that in the third quarter of the year
(July, August and September) the unemployment
rate was 15%, while during the same
period in 2003 it reached 17,9% (…)".
