Moscow and Caracas set to expand their trade-and-economic cooperation
(RIA Novosti) - "President Hugo Chávez of Venezuela will attach priority to expanded trade-and-economic relations during his Kremlin talks, a Kremlin source told.
The Venezuelan leader is visiting Russia for the third time already; President Chávez had paid an official and a working visit to Moscow in 2001. The Venezuelan leader has already negotiated with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov. Hugo Chávez would be expected to negotiate with President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation.

First of all, the sides are going to discuss energy cooperation, co-production arrangements, investment and military-technical cooperation because these are the most promising aspects, the Kremlin source added.

In his words, a seminal dealing with bilateral oil-and-gas cooperation, due to take place during the Venezuelan President's visit, is called on to make an important contribution to enhancing Russian-Venezuelan trade-and-economic ties. This seminar will involve leading representatives of Russian and Venezuelan business circles. The Venezuelan leader would be expected to address the summit, the source added.

Moscow is counting on constructive oil-cooperation dialogue with the President of Venezuela (…) Moscow also notes similar Russian-Venezuelan positions as regards the establishment of a modern system of international relations based on the multi-polar world concept, the UN key role in international affairs and respect for international-law norms".
