(Xinhuanet agency, reproduced by www.chinaview.cn) - "Venezuela presented a proposal for energy sector integration in Latin American and the Caribbean during the 34th Meeting of Experts of the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE) which concluded in Margarita Island.

Venezuelan Energy and Mining Minister Rafael Ramírez said that the proposal seeks energy integration among the nations and thus enable them to enjoy the benefits from their resources. 'We seek to develop state-run companies based on strategic alliances,' Ramírez added.

(…) Ramírez said main obstacles to energy supply must be overcome to guarantee supply security. Meanwhile, steps must be taken to cope with problems concerning energy storage and commercialisation".
