More than 100 international observers
will participate in regional elections
(El Nacional) - "One of the
directors of the National Electoral Council
Oscar Battaglini, who is the coordinator
of the international observers programme,
announced that more than 100 international
observers will participate in the regional
elections on Sunday October 31st.
Delegations of 60 electoral
organisms from Latin America and Spain
arrived in Venezuela (

Among the list of international
observers that confirmed their participation
was Horacio Serpa, former presidential
candidate of Colombia and Eduardo Duhalde,
former President of Argentina.
Also as participants
were Marisol Castro, Representative
of the Electoral Supreme Tribunal of
Costa Rica; Flora Bolívar from
the National Electoral Jury of Perú;
Alberto Ramírez Zambonini, Magistrate
of the Superior Electoral Justice Tribunal
of Paraguay; Rubén Velez Núñez,
Secretary General of the Andean Parliament;
Pascale Policastro, Director of the
Law Department of the European Union;
Luis Botero, President of the National
Elections Council of Colombia; Diego
Navarro, former Director of Electoral
Processes of the Community of Madrid
(Spain); Cruz Saavedra, President of
the Amazonian Parliament and Carlos
Solórzano former President of
