INE and business people
agree on the good economic expectations
for Venezuela
(Radio Nacional
de Venezuela) - "Both government
and business people in Venezuela agree
on the good expectations for economical
recovery, according to a poll published
by the National Statistics Institute (INE).
At the same time, an American study done
by a private firm indicated that 'consumption
has been reactivated in the country'.
The Industrial Qualitative Poll corresponding
to the second quarter of 2004 reveals
that 'the optimistic views of most business
people coincide with government forecasts
about the internal economic recovery that
was expected for this year', as indicated
by the INE in a statement.
For
2005, the government expects growth
of 5% and inflation of 15%, less than
the 20% calculated for the end of this
year.
The INE said that
556 businessmen and top managers were
surveyed, in order to inquire into their
expectations about the behaviour of
different variables, such as demand
portfolio, production, exports, purchasing
of raw material, energy consumption
and employment.
The results of the investigation indicated
that 'there is a coincidence between
the optimistic vision of the interviewed
people and the government estimates
about economical recovery'. On the other
hand, a study done by the American firm
Urban and Associates concluded that
'there is an important recovery in purchasing'
in Venezuela, especially in leisure,
automotive and technology sectors".
