Relations
with the US must improve
(El Universal) - "The Minister
of Foreign Affairs, Jesús Arnaldo
Pérez, acknowledged the importance
of reinforcing diplomatic relations with
the United States and declared that, despite
the differences between the two countries,
there is the willingness of the Venezuelan
government to make them improve. 'I don't
think we will agree totally, considering
the foreign policy of that country, but
this does not mean that relations cannot
improve. That is the challenge'. (
)
The Minister also
declared that in the past few weeks,
communication with the US has been better
'because their government accepted that
President Chávez won the referendum'.
He also assured that no matter who becomes
President of the United States, Venezuela
would work in favour of better bilateral
relations (
)".
