Relations with the US must improve
(El Universal) - "The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jesús Arnaldo Pérez, acknowledged the importance of reinforcing diplomatic relations with the United States and declared that, despite the differences between the two countries, there is the willingness of the Venezuelan government to make them improve. 'I don't think we will agree totally, considering the foreign policy of that country, but this does not mean that relations cannot improve. That is the challenge'. (…)

The Minister also declared that in the past few weeks, communication with the US has been better 'because their government accepted that President Chávez won the referendum'. He also assured that no matter who becomes President of the United States, Venezuela would work in favour of better bilateral relations (…)".
