BID
expects growth on 2004
(El
Universal) - The Inter American Bank of Development
expects the Venezuelan economy will recover this
year to show an evident improvement on 2004, according
to Roman Mayorga's declarations as representative
of this organization in Venezuela."It is
now starting to recover and we expect growth for
next year", he said.
Venezuela
could show improvement after a slow year. Mayorga
admitted a delay in the execution of the joint
programmes that are handled in the country. The
pending portfolio of 1.300 million US dollars
corresponds to a counterpart that the government
has not yet invested in order to guarantee the
continuous development of the 29 projects in force.
Local
economists warned that it is expectable to have
a recovery for the last trimester, due to the
negative effect caused by the national strike
on December last year.
