OPEC postpones election of a New Secretary-General
(Reuters, OPEC News) - OPEC oil ministers agreed on Wednesday to postpone the election of a new Secretary-General for the group until their next meeting on December 4, OPEC delegates said.

The man at the helm of the cartel, former Venezuelan oil minister Alvaro Silva, will continue in his post, they said. Two new candidates for the position had been put forward: former Iranian envoy to the United Nations Hadi Hosseinian and Kuwait economist and OPEC Director of research Adnan Shihab-Eldin.
