Venezuela to fly in other 15 tons of humanitarian aid to Haiti

(El Universal) - "A fourth airplane of the Venezuelan Air Force is to arrived in Haiti to deliver other 15 tons of humanitarian aid supplies to the city of Gonaives, razed by hurricane Jeanne, that justify 2,000 people dead, the news agency Venpres reported as quoted by Reuters.

Venezuela has sent four planes to Haiti carrying 60 tons of medicines, drinkable water, and food. Over the next few days, a Venezuelan Army ship is to deliver other 100 tons of humanitarian aid, particularly construction materials for roads and houses.

According to Venpres, the director of Civil Protection and Disaster Prevention of Venezuela, colonel Antonio Rivero, flied to Haiti to head Venezuelan rescue teams operating in the island".
