Rodríguez was born in Venezuela
and after winning a scholarship from the
Venezuelan Arts Council trained in London
at the Royal College of Music under Phyllis
Sellick. There, she was the recipient
of numerous prizes and performed as a
soloist with the RCM orchestras including
a performance of the Ravel Concerto in
G at St. John's Smith Square.
Clara Rodríguez's career as a concert
pianist has taken her to perform all over
the world. Her repertoire covers works
by the best-known Classical, Romantic
and Modern composers but she is also an
enthusiastic promoter of the music of
the Latin American continent. Her discography
includes CDs of the piano music of Moises
Moleiro (ASV), Federico Ruiz (ASV), Teresa
Carreño (MMG Foundation) and the
newly released on the Meridian label of
works by Ernesto Lecuona.
Clara has recently premiered two major
works especially written for her: the
Second Piano Concerto for Piano and Orchestra
by Federico Ruiz and Clarissma Visione
by Diego Silva with the Orquesta Municipal
de Caracas.
José
Antonio Naranjo was born in Caracas
where he studied the flute studies in
the School of Music Lino Gallardo. In
1971, a fellowship took him to Paris where
he was accepted by Jean Pierre Rampal
as a student in the Conservatoire Supérieur
de Musique de Paris. In 1974 he became
the first flute of the Symphony Orchestra
of Venezuela. He founded the Quinteto
de Vientos Venezuela in 1977, and later
the Trío de Cámara Bellas
Artes. Nowadays he performs as a flautist
of the Quinteto de Vientos Latinoamericanos.
He is the first flute of the Fundación
Orquesta Filarmónica Nacional and
director of the Ensamble de Flautas José
Antonio Naranjo. His career as performing
artist in Latin America matches that in
musical education, for which he has been
awarded several national prizes.
Telésforo Naranjo was born
and educated in Caracas where Inocente
Carreño, Vicente Emilio Sojo, Eduardo
Plaza and Primo Casale taught him. Omar
Sansone turned him into a performing double
bass player and in 1965 he entered he
entered the Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela
in that capacity. Since 1988 he has been
the first double bass soloist of the National
Philharmonic Orchestra. In 1979 he began
orchestral and choral conducting with
Gonzalo Castellanos, and continued studies
in the Santa Cecilia Academy in Rome and
the Chigiana Academy of Siena. In 1980
he was named associate conductor of The
Municipal Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela,
with which he has toured throughout Venezuela
and North, Central and South America.
He has accompanied Maurice Hasson, Joen
Vásquez, Monique Duphil, José
Antonio Naranjo and Olaf Ilzins among
others.
Miguel
Delgado was born in Calabozo, a town
in the Llanos of Venezuela. He was a founding
member of the Pro-Music Group and performed
and directed Los Anauco. By working with
Venezuelan luminaries such as Simón
Díaz, Morella Muñoz, Lilia
Vera and Cecilia Todd, his career as an
instumentalist expanded into that of composer,
arranger and producer of musical shows,
theatre productions, documentaries and
television programmes. He has taught the
guitar at the Father Sojo Foundation and
at the University Institute of Musical
Studies (IUDEM). He is currently the manager
of Creamusic, the music division of 1BC
Firms.
Raúl
Delgado was also born in Calabozo,
but studied in Caracas at the Escuela
Superior de Música and the Music
School Juan Manuel Olivares. With a scholarship
from Inciba, he moved to Paris for five
years to continue studying in the Ecole
Normale de Musique, the Conservatoire
Supérieur de Musique and in the
group of Musical Research of the Radio
and French Television. He has founded,
conducted, taught and sang in some of
the best known choral groups in Venezuela.
For 23 years he performed with the famous
Orfeón de la Universidad Central
de Venezuela (UCV). He is currently the
conductor of the Choir of the Industrial
Bank of Venezuela.His contribution to
the cultural scene has earned him the
top national decorations, the Gran Cordón
and the Orden del Congreso de Angostura,
among them.
